Pastor Baker has been a huge influence in our lives,

in the lives of many people across Canada, and across the world.

Today we are thanking the Lord for the Bakers!

We love you all!!

Being a 1 year old...is a blast!!

Good morning, sleepy head...

Joshua has been sleeping in until 9:30!

but they lost.

So sad...not :)

Joshua LOVES all his stuffed animals!

They get more hugs and kisses then we do.

The other morning Joshua brought me ONE of his crocks,

so, I put it on him.

As soon as it was on...

He headed straight for the door.

Joshua knows when I put his shoes on him, he gets to go outside!

He loves to play outside.

Joshua has become the BIGGEST fan of reading books...

I don't know where he got that from????

I love to read with him! He will sit on my lap forever and read with me!

Now, if I only had time to sit and cuddle, and read him books all day long...

we would both love it!

When Daddy gets home, he gets the same privilege!

"Da, dad, boo!" (boo = book!)

Yesterday, I watched Matthias and Shirley, while Sandra and Micah went to do laundry and a Dr.'s appointment. Joshua was still sleeping when they got here, so, he had a big surprise when he woke up!

He had such a blast with the kids.

He can run around with them now, and do all the same things as them!

It was so cute to see him "playing" with his big cousins! ;D

In this picture, I noticed that Joshua was sitting on a monkey...

so I said to him, "you are sitting on a monkey, you silly..."

He stood up, adjusted the monkey, sat back down, on the monkey, and looked at me like this...

as if to say, yeah, I know :D

Last night we picked up a wardrobe (to help with our lack of storage) for $25 off of craigslist.

I started putting our shoes in it today, then had to make lunch.

While I was in the kitchen I heard, "mum, mum, mum,"

so I went back into our room and found Joshua here...

in the wardrobe!

He was so proud of himself...see his big smile :D

He made himself quite at home in it :)

Every time we go to Wal-mart...

Joshua likes to see the BIG stuffed animals.

He would always give them big hugs and kisses. Everyone in the store would, "oooo, and aaahhh!" at Joshua! :) It is so cute to see him do it!

When Joshua got his birthday money, I figured we would go and get him one...

but, of course they were all gone. It's a good thing he is still young enough that he doesn't really understand, "lets go buy a big doggy!" It doesn't lead into a crying baby boy.

I know, you are all thinking...just wait! :)

Well, at the beginning of the week, I noticed that Wal-mart had the big stuffed animals again. So, today, I took Joshua to buy his Big Doggy!! He was so HAPPY!!!!

Everyone in the store was laughing at us...

I walked to Wal-mart, so the BIG DOGGY was in the stroller with Joshua!

He LOVED it though :)

Another day at the beach!!!!

Last Thursday, we had another fun day at the beach!

This time we invited Erin, Calleigh, and Heather.

I left Joshua in the living room watching his movie, and when I went back in to check on him...

this is what I found! Some how he ended up right on the channel that was showing the world cup!

He was sitting there saying, "ball, ball, ball!"

"Ball!"

He was getting really excited! :)

Joshua's 1st steps!!!!

Joshua's 1st steps!...finally... ;D for the longest time he has thought that he needed to hang on to something. The last couple of days he has been walking a bit more everyday, and finally, last night he walked all the way to me at the microwave from the sofa (about 15')! After that, there was no turning back!! Yeah Joshua!!!!

Joshua has been the joy of our lives this past year. It has been a wonderful and learning experience for both Nathan and I. We LOVE being parents...especially to such a little cutie!

We count it a privilege to have been given such a blessing to raise Joshua for the Lord.

Who CAN walk! Last night I watched him pick up one of his blue toy bins and walked half way across his room...and then right now he is pushing his blue lawn chair around, and to get over all the flooring dividers, he's picking up the chair and walking over it :)

Crazy boy...for some reason he just thinks he has to have something in his hands I guess!

A day at the beach!

Last Friday, we went to the beach in WhiteRock.

It was sooooo much fun!

It brought back so many fun memories of going to the

beach with family growing up.

We even built a sand castle...Melissa did all the work ;D

aaawwww...the ocean...it was georgous!

The heron was there for the first half hour...all the kids love to watch it.
Joshua noticed it right away..."bir, bir, bir!!!" (bird; for those of you who don't know baby talk)! ;D

Joshua headed straight for the water as soon as he got out of the stroller!

The water was a bit chilly, but you get used to it fast!

It was such an awesome day to be at the beach.

We even packed a picnic luch and ate it on the beach!

Joshua loved it there!

Not one of the kids were pleased when we said that it was time to leave :(

See you again tomorrow beach!!!!!

Can't wait!!!

Our beach bum group is going to be bigger tomorrow!

Joshua's 1st Birthday!!

We gave Joshua a monkey birthday party!

It was such a beautiful day.

We started the day moving (with help from a Crown College men's tour group),

and then finished the day off with a wonderful 1st birthday party for our baby boy!!
