Are you ready....here we go!!! 1

Hello! Yes, a lot has taken place since my last post....so, this one is going to be a quick (long) update of everything that has happened since our anniversary back on May 12th!
I know that I promised this post for last week, but we all got sick ;( and we are just not getting over it.
Enjoy some of what we have been able to enjoy ;)

Mother's Day - Niagara Falls

Mother's Day 2012
Joshua's Sunday School class gave each of their Mums flowers in a cup that they decorated :)

Matthew's 1st hair cut!!!
May 19,2012

He had some LONG strands behind his ears...I think they were there from birth.  :)

May 21st we boarded a plane and headed East...we landed in Detroit and my bro-in-law, Ben, picked us up.  We spent the night with Ben, Alicia, their kids, and my Mum in Windsor, ON.  Then we drove my mum back home so we could use her car (and visited for a couple of hours) during our trip, then on to Buffalo we went to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Ravert :)

One of the outing we did with Grandma Ravert was a Marina!  We saw a lot of little fish in the water...including a BIG, dead stinky one ;(

Matthew wasn't allowed out of his stroller on the walkway...he would have jumped into the water, I know it!

CHEESE :)

Matthew and the open water!....

We were constantly chasing him to keep him out of the water....he has NO fear!  If we would have let him, he would have just walked right it!

Finding some smooth stones to skip

Go Daddy!! He threw some pretty nice one's too!

There he goes....!

Matthew modeling some Cat in the Hat PJ's from Aunt Sandy :)

They don't fit anymore :(

Matthew found a tunnel in Grandpa and Grandma's livingroom :)

Niagara Falls!!!!!

It has been tooo long since we've been here.  We used to live only 20 min away, so Nathan and I would drive here for fun :) Normally we would go to the Canadian side, but this was the holiday weekend in May and we were on the American side already, so that is where we stayed :)

Joshua and Matthew seeing the Falls for the first time!!

LOVE MY MAN!! ;)

Monkey ;)

Me too! Remember I mentioned no fear...

Walking with Grandpa!  Matthew is defenitely a Daddy's boy, but we are thinking a Grandpa's (x2) boy too!

Grandpa stopped at the icecream stand!!!! Joshua picked at snow cone!

Matthew picked Grandpa's ice cream :)

YUMMY!!

The whole time we were waling around Niagara Falls, Nathan  was talking on his phone off and on.  Everytime I would ask him what was up, he would just wave at me to be quiet...finally he told me that the Malazo's were going to meet us there to surprise Dad and Mum!  Well, they successfully did! Other than when they were running across the field Dad saw Jun and thought, he that looks a lot like my Son-in-law. Thankfully that is all he thought, that he looked like him and did't think anything of it :)

Our 5th Anniversary May 12/2012

May 12,2012
Our 5th wedding anniversary!

These 5 years with my handsome hubby has been so wonderful! We have seen our love grow and the Lord has greatly blessed us on many occasions! The Lord has given us 2 precious adorable boys ;D and He has led us through many different trials: all which He has brought us closer together as a couple and with our Lord!
Thank you, Nathan for all that you have done unsleflessly for these past 5 years! I am truly blessed to have you has my one and only! Love you Babe!

We were given a gift card to the following restaurants and we have never been to Milestones so we thought we would try it out!...........

Nathan and I had an evening planned out to go downtown Vancouver for dinner and then grab a coffee and walk along the waterfront....well, as we were driving to Christopher and Melissa's to drop the boys off, we quickly decided that the traffic was to bad (if was horrible) to drive all the way to downtown: our time would have been up before we even got to the restaurant....so we dropped the boys off and then headed to Milestones in Langely.  When we got to the restaurant we were seated at a table right beside the main aisle of the restaurant, we were right beside a dividing wall and at a two person table (yes, there was only two of us there, but we like to sit BESIDE each other not across from each other and 6 feet apart at that. Who came up with the idea of couples sitting across from each other anyways...I don't understand them?!?!?!??), the music was horendous and so loud that we couldn't hear each other without yelling.  We started to look at the menu and were not interested in anything (it was lousy) so we both looked at each other and decided that we were ready to leave: so we did, on our way out we told the hostess that we were not happy with the music being so loud and she appologized (while inside Im sure she was wondering what was wrong with us ;D)
On our way in to Milestones we noticed a Montanas across the street, thankfully :)  becuase thats where we headed! We even got to sit on the patio!!! It was perfect! The weather was warm and sunny and it was nice and peaceful out on the patio! The service was very good and our food was delicious!!!!!!!!!
So, if anyone is thinking to try out Milestones and you want to enjoy yourselves without feeling uptight....I wouldn't go there :)

Last week Melissa had mentioned to me that the Tim Hortons up the hill from their house had a Coldstone Creamery in it!!! So we headed there for our dessert and coffee! Nathan won his $100 gift card for Tim Hortons so it was perfect!! We enjoyed a coffee and icecream for dessert while we looked at a photobook I put together for our anniversary :)

This is the only picture I took of us together becuase of where the sun was shining at each restaurant we stopped at.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we went on this date on the night before our actual anniversary becuase our anniversary was on a Saturday, and they are crazy busy for us normally ;) Then on Saturday (our actual anniversary) we walked over to Starbucks for their half price frappicinos..YUMMY! Then sat by the water for a bit (a bit for real...Matthew loves to wander!)

Happy 5th Anniversary, Babe, I love you!!!

Missionary Mary Slessor

I am privileged to read a missionary story every week in Jr. church....let me just say, it has been a challenge to me reading about each missionary!  Tomorrow, I will finish the story about Mary Slessor.  Mary was a young British girl who at a young age determined that she was going to serve the Lord! Although, not only was she determined to serve the Lord, she was determined to serve the Lord anywhere! Mary was a missionary to Africa for 36 years! Mary spent a few years in each village and every time she would go deeper into the jungle: each village was worse than the one before!  Mary did not have fear of what man would do! Her courage came from the Lord!  At one point in Mary's life, she lay sick in bed back home in Scotland: Mary over heard people talking about a tribe in Africa called the Aros - a vicious cannibal tribe.  When Mary heard this, she sat up in bed and said, "Aros, Sure, I'd like to meet them!"
What an amazing testimony Mary had! All 36 years she spent in Africa, she called for help...not one person came to help (long term)....
What is the Lord asking you to do? Is He simply asking you to talk to your neighbour or maybe your co-worker, or someone else in your family?  Mary gave her life!  Can we not give at least a day?

Pray for your missionaries, give to your missionaries....or are we better than the lost around the world....like the unlearned, the poor, or the cannibals?  WOULD YOU CONSIDER GOING YOURSELF?!?!?!

Matthew's 1st Birthday

April 5/2012
Matthew's 1st Birthday

We had a sports theme party for Matthew! It was very fitting; he LOVES sports!

Birthday boy shots :)

Joshua wanted to join in on the photo shoot....I couldn't tell him no, I normally have to take his pictures fast while he is smiling or I don't get it ;)

Silly brothers :)

AAHH! A normal sound to hear from Matthew!

I found him some little sweat bands for his party :)

Happy Birthday Boy!

Matthew's 1st Birthday cake! YUMMY!!

such a good boy...he's helping clean up for his party :)

Skyping with Grandpa & Grandma Marks while he opens his gift.

Its a big one....

pausing to give Daddy a hug :)

and.... its Matthew's 1st car!!!!!

He LOVES it!!

Pushing Joshua in his new car :)

Matthew's smash cake! You can't get messy with fondant icing so I made Matthew his own little cake to smash :)

OH! Fire!

Poor cake :( Matthew got scared when we were all singing Happy Birthday (I guess we are worse singers than we thought). So I ended up holding him....while I was holding him, I was doing something with Matthew and all of the sudden I hear, "Oh No!" and the next thing I know is the cake is falling off the plate and onto the floor :( I dropped his cake! Thankfully it landed on the one side and stayed there, so we cut that off and let him try again :)

Hmmm, this is pretty good!

Remember that "AAHH!" Sound I mentioned above...its a good thing if he does it! :) Here it is again!!!

Digging in :)

Yum!

It's good, want some? :)

Joshua is such a good gift opening helper :)

What did I get Joshua? :)

Waiting to play cars
