Wooden spoons and stainless steal bowls...

On Friday, Joshua found my stainless steal mixing bowls (he is getting very mobile...he made his way all the way around the living room into the kitchen, then around into the hallway and found me in the bathroom!). He was having a blast! So, I decided to help him out and make it even more exciting for him; I handed him some wooded spoons!!! Yeah, he was lov'in every second of it! He even sang along with the music he was making! :)

Joshua has also recently started pointing his finger at things. It is quite funny, he will point his finger at whatever he is looking at until I bring him over to it. It we can't figure out what he is pointing at fast enough he tries to tell us...very loudly(Ill explain)!

On Friday-Saturday there was a men's retreat here. So, while all the Hubby's/Daddy's were away, we had a sleepover at Melissa's house (it was so much fun!). When we got back home, Joshua started talking to his Daddy and then all of the sudden he just started yelling!!!!! It was hilarious! He will just randomly blurt out a VERY LOUD BAAAA or DAAAA or anything else, and then go on talking normally again. I guess he thinks its to quiet at home now after being with his cousins over night! It is so fun watching him grow up and copy all of his big cousins!

Ill put up the movie I got of Joshua playing with the bowls and spoons as soon as I can! I have to get Melissa's card adapter!

'a virtuous women...her price is far above rubies'

I started reading one of my college class books again!

It has already been a challenge and a blessing to me and I have only made it through 3 chapters!! Now that I am married, have my own home, and a baby, this book is taking on a whole new meaning to me. Reading it as a college text book (while I was dating) was yes, a challenge to me, but now I am able to strive to put everything into practice.
Lately, the Lord has been working in my heart about being a better 'keeper at home'. It is actually really neat to see how the Lord shows you different things, through different circumstances. One, for instance was this past Sunday in Adult Sunday School. We had a lesson on the commandment, "honour thy father and mother:" Exodus 20:12 {we are going through all of the 10 commandments} Our teacher switched it around for us (adults) a little bit. He challenged us on how to act, so it is easy for your children to 'honour' you as a parent. One of the statements he made really stuck out to me. "What happens at home will affect the community, which will affect the city, which will affect the province, which will affect the country, which will affect the world." Home is the most crucial learning place for your children. It is where everything begins! How we (parents) react to things...we are being watched - constantly, has that great of an affect on this world.
Like the old saying, "your children will be everything you are, but stronger."
So how are we teaching our children?
Challenging, yes! I praise the Lord for His working/molding in the lives of His children!
I pray that this will be a help to someone who is reading this, just has the Lord has been helping me!
If you have the opportunity to read this book, take it!

a new outfit...

CUTIE PIE, BLUE EYES

Joshua and I went shopping in the USA, on Tuesday with Sandra and the kids; I bought Joshua this new outfit. I didn't think that he would be able to wear it so soon (because it was supposed to rain all week), but we had a REALLY nice day yesterday...15'! So I put his new outfit on him:) I love it! The shirt says, "little tough guy"

Joshua loves to play outside, just like all his cousins! Everytime the door gets opened he wants out:) If you look closely, Joshua is standing all by himself here! He was concentrating so much on the ball that he didn't realize that he wasn't holding on. Its funny, he will do that often; he can stand on his own, but he thinks that he has to hold on to something:)
We played catch yesterday with these tennis balls.
Joshua was so funny, when he would pick up the balls, he would adjust them in his hand just like we would before we throw a ball!...he is learning soooooo fast!
Saturday, Nathan and I bought a soccer ball (Dad, that's a football :D), and went to the school across the street to play around some. Joshua enjoyed every minute of it. He even got to join in the fun some too, thanks to Daddy!!
We have been having so much fun with Joshua lately. He is learning to do so many new things, so fast! Grandma's, you are going to have your hands full this summer keeping up with this "little tough guy"!!
See you soon!

The Army Crawl!!

Yesterday, Joshua started doing the "Army Crawl"!! I was babysitting his Malazo cousins and we were planning on going to the park together. While I was getting everyone ready to go, Shirley was holding the door open...waiting. Well, Joshua saw the door of opportunity and he was so ready to go through it. He got down to his belly and away he went...doing the army crawl! It was so cute! He was loving it, and didn't waste anytime getting there either. BUT THEN... Shirley went out and the door closed.... Joshua didn't like that very much. He had just got to the door mat all the way from the other side of the living room when it happened. So from the cry I heard I figured something was wrong. Then I looked and saw that his door was closed
:( I opened the door for him again and away he went. Then another hurdle stood in his way...the door jam! I had to help him out with that, but he didn't mind...he made it to where he was trying to go...he was going outside! Joshua is very much like Nathan and I; we both love to be outside!
For lunch, yesterday, Joshua had a treat!
He eat banana's without his fresh food feeder! He loved it! It just took a little more patience on his part; the bananas were sticking to his tray :)

We had another busy, but fun day yesterday. At 10:45, we had Stephanie, Katelyn, and Hailey Ball over; we went to the part for 2 hours!

Then at 1:30 the Malazo kids came over while Sandra went for her ultra-sound. Yep, we went to the part again for another hour. Joshua is starting to LOVE the park. He is able to do more, and more each time we go.

Then when Nathan came home from work, he had to finish the brakes on the van, so Joshua and I watched and helped out a little. When the van was finished we went and played tennis...where are the pictures you ask. Well, when we are able to actually hit the ball over more that 6 times, then we will take pictures :) (we need a lot more practice)!!!!!!

Its not over yet! After we finished attempting to play tennis, we went for a walk and some how ended up at Tim Horton's??? I wonder how that happened ;D While we were walking there, Nathan got a call from Christopher saying that they were coming this way. So we had them all over for pizza!

It was a fun, but busy day.

Are you too busy?

Prayer...

I recently heard something convicting said about prayer...
"If you are too busy to pray, then you are too busy!"
How can we not find time to talk to the One who created this...?
"...that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;" Luke 18:1 b.
"Pray without ceasing." I Thess. 5:17

A busy day

Joshua and I have had a busy but fun day!

We did a lot of playing with toys,

We had a few snacks, (mmmm...banana's)!

We enjoyed some of the nice warm weather,

Look at those cute sandles!!!!

We had another snack, :D

Played some more,...
When Nathan got home from work,
he worked on the rear brakes on our van,
so we went out to watch.
Then, Joshua fell asleep...busy day!

Joshua and his easter package...?

Joshua received his Valentine/Easter package from Grandpa and Grandma Marks last Friday. He was soooo excited when I brought in the BIG box! I let him lean, and bang on it until I gathered together all my stuff (camera and scissors) to open the package.

Remember how I said that he was soooo excited when he saw the box...well, as soon as I started opening the box he was not soooo excited anymore. Let's just say he was rather upset that I started opening the box...it was so funny. Yes, he was sick too, so that probably didn't help the situation out...at all!!

Grandpa and Grandma, Joshua LOVES his monkeys!!! They fit in perfectly with his collection of monkey's! He gets to take Curious George around with us whenever we go out (its small enough)! If Nathan or I ask him where his monkey's are he looks right at them all, and he must see them then! As soon as we bring him over to allllllllll his monkey's he gets all excited :) its so cute. He grabs them all and gives them big hugs and bites their noses...?...who knows? :) We never would of thought that when we were planning his bedroom decor before he was born that he would love monkey's this much!

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma,

I love you,

Joshua

Like Daddy like baby...

When we bought Joshua his own laptop we were hoping that he would get over his LOVE for Daddy's laptop... let's just say, well...he didn't. He still loves to play on Daddy's :) he is getting quite good at running it to. He has already passed Grandma Marks' computer knowledge...hahahahahaha!

Just the right touch...

When you are sick there are just few things that make you smile. Joshua LOVES his huge monkey, and it had just the right touch to make our sick baby boy smile!

Da da da da de!!!

Joshua is Daddy's biggest fan! When Nathan comes home from work Joshua gets VERY excited! As soon as Joshua hears the key unlocking the door he turns and smiles! He always has tons of things to tell Daddy. He is such a little chatter box! He will dadadada when Daddy gets home, and then tell him some bababababab's and eeeee's, and some more babababa's and then some more and finish off with a BIG smile! It is so cute :D Joshua loves to play with Daddy. One of the things Nathan loves is having Joshua outside with him while he is working on the van. He can't wait for the day that he gets to teach Joshua how to fix everything on vehicles; just like he loves doing with his Dad!

(Sorry, they are all old pictures.)

determination...

Ever since Joshua has discovered Daddy's laptop, Joshua has HAD to play with it. He has soooo determination! Joshua will give and do everything he has to, to get to Daddy's laptop. So, Nathan decided to buy Joshua his own laptop! He LOVES it! When we were looking at the laptops for Joshua, we gave him this one and he loved it right away. Nathan's way of seeing if Joshua really liked this laptop was by taking it away and waiting for his reaction. Well, he started crying instantly...Daddy says, Yep, its a go!!!!

He Loves it!!!

For some reason Joshua loves playing in his old car seat. Last night, he climbed into the car seat all by himself! He was bouncing up and down in it like he was riding a horse...it was so funny to watch him. He is such a boy!

Yeah, look at all the chubs!!! ;D

all in a day...

Joshua is a busy little boy...here are some pictures of his favorite things to do!

Cutie pie! Joshua never used to like being on his tummy,

but now I am contantly watching him go down to his tummy.

Joshua just finished beating up his huge monkey. This is his victory smile :D

Where did my cookie go? This was hilarious! Joshua was sitting enjoying one of his favorite cookies, and then all of the sudden he started complaining... I was a bit confused until I saw him looking for his cookie that was stuck to his shirt :) He thought it was pretty funny when I showed it to him!

Look at that Casie...Joshua is going to be playing harder pieces than you soon!! :)
Nathan and I call Joshua our little Masetro! He loves music, and he especially love the piano! I can sit him on the piano bench and he will sit and play the piano for a half an hour! He will work his way up to all the high keys and then work all the way down to all the low keys. I am so glad that he likes music. We are praying that he will stay interested in playing the piano when he is old enough to start learning how to play!!

He loves his blue ball. He will play catch with Nahtan and I! When we throw (roll) it to him, he will pass it back! Pretty good for an 8 month old!

We have been told by a couple photographers that Joshua could be a baby model! We tell them, its becuase Mommy is always taking pictures of his at home. Its just natural, when Joshua sees a camera, he puts on his smile! :)

Joshua has become the biggest fan of the Baby Einstein movies! He LOVES to watch them... he will sit and watch the whole movie! He likes to talk to the puppets, which are his favorite things on those movies!! He even laughs at the right times. Its funny, Joshua will sit and watch these movies with not problem, but if there is another cartoon on TV, he will watch it for maybe 2 min and he's done watching it.

Joshua chearing for team Canada! They won gold!!!
He got right in with Daddy and Mommy while we were chearing away :)

Yes, he is sleeping! Don't ask me how this could be comfy, but he seems to think that it is!
Joshua used to sleep with a blanket over his head, just like a true Ravert. Then for a while he stopped, but he is pulling his blanket over his head again! I guess, he decided that it was better to sleep that way then to not.
